The White House has stood by NASA Administrator Charlie Bolden's statement that Obama told him that "foremost" among NASA's responsibilities was finding "a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations, to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."
Obama stuck to this ridiculous idea that NASA should be devoted to Muslim outreach even after Michael Griffin, former head of NASA under the Bush Administration, said the idea that NASA should be devoted to making Muslims feel good was "deeply flawed."
"NASA … represents the best of America. Its purpose is not to inspire Muslims or any other cultural entity," said Griffin.
