Feminist icon Gloria Steinem on Saturday said that if the U.S. begins a registry of Muslims, then "we will all register as Muslims."
"If you force Muslims to register, we will all register as Muslims," Steinem said during a speech at the Women's March on Washington, drawing raucous cheers.
President Trump during his presidential campaign called for a temporary ban on Muslims coming into the U.S., stoking fears that he would create a registry of Muslims.
"So don't try to divide us. Do not try to divide us," said Steinem, who is listed as an honorary co-chair of the event.
