Wilders demands fair trial in race baiting court hearing
by Janene Pieters
PVV leader Geert Wilders demanded a fair trial in the court in The Hague on Wednesday. He is standing trial for his "fewer Moroccans" statements made in a cafe in The Hague last year.
Wilders does not have confidence that he will be treated fairly in the trial, because the court rejected his lawyer's requests for investigations and testimony by witnesses and experts. According to the PVV leader, he needs these requests granted so that he can defend himself.
"I have the right to a fair trial. That's why I'm here. Not to ask you a favor. But to ask you for what I am entitled to." Wilders said in court on Wednesday, NU reports.
