Restaurants in Burton and South Derbyshire serving halal-slaughtered meats
by Kit Sandeman
Several restaurants in the area are serving meat killed in the traditional Islamic way.
Halal, which is Arabic for permissible, means meat which adheres to Islamic law, as defined in the Qur'an.
It involves the killing of animals through a cut to the jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe.
