An east London mayor has been thrown out of office and branded corrupt in a dramatic court judgment.
Lutfur Rahman, the independent mayor of Tower Hamlets, oversaw corrupt and illegal practices when he was re-elected mayor last year.
There was also extensive corruption and illegality surrounding the election of Rahman's supporters at the council elections, the Election Commissioner Richard Mawrey found.
