Head orders teachers be trained to spot FGM risks after reading about brutal practice in Evening Standard
by Anna Davis
All teachers at a London secondary school have been given specialist training to spot if a girl is at risk of female genital mutilation after the head-teacher read about it in the Evening Standard.
Staff at Regent High School in Somers Town have been taught how to tell if a girl has undergone the illegal procedure or is at risk of becoming a victim.
The families of around one in five of the mixed school's 800 pupils are from countries where FGM is practised.
