German employers: PEGIDA is 'damaging' Germany's image
German employers' president Ingo Kramer says Germany's image is being damaged by an anti-foreigner movement. Cologne's cathedral says it will turn off its floodlights to counter a protest due next Monday.
Kramer who heads Germany's federal BDA employers' association told the Munich-based magazine Focus on Friday that Germany needed immigration to sustain its job market and social system, given that its population is ageing.
Germany's image as a business location was being damaged, Kramer said, by the impression that foreigners were the targets of Monday evening protests held by the movement PEGIDA in Dresden since last October.
