Police have raided a mosque in a southern Bulgarian city and detained a Muslim religious leader suspected of spreading propaganda for the Islamic State group.
Police detained Ahmed Mussa Ahmed, a Roma imam, in the town of Pazardzhik. Mussa Ahmed has previously been charged with "preaching radical Islam."
The prosecutor's office said Tuesday that it has launched a joint operation with the interior ministry and the agency for national security "as part of a pretrial investigation into terrorism and incitement to war."
