Five men who dressed up in burkas and attempted an audacious £1.5 million raid on Selfridges' flagship Oxford Street branch have been jailed for a total of 58 years.
Dressed in Islamic veils, the gang stormed the upmarket store wielding sledgehammers and axes in broad daylight last June.
The daring raid was staged just weeks after the same robbers pulled off a similar raid at a jewellers in Windsor, where they threatened staff and smashed display cabinets to snatch designer watches.
