Council education chief offered to resign after Trojan Horse reports were published
A Birmingham education chief has revealed she offered to resign after the reports into the Trojan Horse scandal were published.
Councillor Brigid Jones offered her resignation after a damning report, commissioned by the city council, by education expert Ian Kershaw into an alleged hardline Muslim plot to take over some schools in the city.
Former anti-terrorism chief Peter Clarke later delivered a Government-ordered report which concluded there had been attempts by hard line Muslims to gain control of governing bodies at some Birmingham schools.
