More details of a Muslim father's alleged reign of terror over his daughter have emerged.
The man, whose name is suppressed to protect his daughter's identity, appeared in the Manukau District Court today and entered no pleas to one charge each of injuring his daughter with intent to injure, unlawfully detaining and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Senior police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Watkins opposed bail and Judge Anna Johns decided to keep the man in custody, remanding him to re-appear next year to enter pleas.
