FGM: Britain's first ever criminal charges could be brought as cases reopened
Britain's first ever criminal charges could be brought over female genital mutilation after the new Director of Public Prosecutions ordered files to be reopened, The Telegraph can disclose.
Alison Saunders, who took over as head of the Crown Prosecution Service last month, is re-examining four previous cases which have previously been dropped before reaching court.
A further two new cases are also being considered.
