The Alhuraa University, in The Hague, is suspected of falsifying diplomas. The Public Prosecution Service has announced that the lawsuit against the foundation behind the Islamic university will begin on Tuesday.
The university had forged more than a hundred undergraduate and Master's degrees in the period from April 2007 to July 2010. On Saturday, the board was not available for comment.
The university is not accredited by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organisation NVAO. That means the bachelor's or master's degrees from the Alhuraa are not valid under Dutch law.
