Democratic Institutions Minister Bernard Drainville plans to present his proposed Charter of Quebec Values to the National Assembly in bill form Thursday, a well-placed source has confirmed.
Drainville told reporters on Tuesday the move to ban the wearing of "conspicuous" religious signs by Quebec's public employees — from judges and police officers to teachers, civil servants, hospital staff and daycare workers — would be presented as a bill "very, very soon."
The rules would also apply to people working for municipalities and in post-secondary education.
