A judge in the Catalonian town of Lleida (Lérida) has ordered the city's town hall to hand over a licence to a brothel just two streets away from where Catalonia's supreme court banned the building of a mosque a year ago.
A company called Antri plans to set up an 800-square metre brothel with a bar and 12 rooms in the city's El Segre industrial estate, reported 20 Minutos on Tuesday.
Lleida's planning minister Marta Camps said on Wednesday that she was surprised by the decision and found it "grotesque" that two judges should make two such contradictory judgements within such a short space of time.
